Bolt Out

A screw-puzzle game on a wooden board stacked with glossy acrylic plates. Tap a bolt to spin it out: it flies into the open box of the same color, or into a five-slot tray if no box matches. Every full box of three leaves and a new color arrives, pulling matching bolts back out of the tray. A bolt can only come out when no plate above it covers its head, plates left on a single bolt swing down around it (sometimes covering new bolts), and plates with no bolts left drop off the board. Fill the tray and the level is lost. 50 seeded levels, each checked by a solver, with Extra Slot, Drill and Undo boosters, star ratings and saved progress.

How to play

Tap a bolt that no plate is covering to unscrew it. It goes into the open box of its color, or into the tray if no box matches. Boxes hold three bolts; a full box leaves and the next color box arrives and collects matching bolts from the tray. A plate held by one bolt swings down around it, and a plate with no bolts falls away. Drop every plate to clear the level, and don't let all tray slots fill up. Use boosters when you're stuck: Slot adds a sixth tray slot, Drill removes any bolt even when covered, Undo takes back your last move. Clear levels without boosters for three stars.

Controls

Tap or click a bolt to unscrew it. Buttons below the board use the Slot, Drill and Undo boosters or restart the level. Keys: arrow keys pick a bolt, Enter or Space unscrews it, E extra slot, D drill, Z undo, R restart, Esc closes menus.

Privacy and saves

Runs entirely in your browser. Level progress, stars, boosters and the sound setting are saved only in this browser's local storage; nothing is sent anywhere.
